WELLS FARGO EMPLOYEES VOLUNTEER WITH HABITAT

The group will construct a LEED home; Wells Fargo also gave a $10,000 grant to help fund the work

Gulfport, MS (March 28, 2012) – More than a dozen Wells Fargo employees will be working this weekend though not at their normal jobs.  They will be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast (HFHMGC).

The volunteer efforts are just a part of the support Wells Fargo has made to Habitat.  In December 2011, Habitat received a $10,000 grant from Wells Fargo to increase homeownership opportunities for hard working families in Jackson County.  The volunteer group will work on a home construction site located at 1505 School Avenue in Pascagoula.  This home is enrolled in the LEED for Homes Program!  Certification in the LEED for Homes Program signifies that the project takes an aggressive stance on energy efficiency, reducing the impact of construction on the environment, and producing a healthy place for people to live.  This home is the 2nd LEED project Habitat has undertaken in Pascagoula.

“We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity as they work to improve the quality of life for residents in our Jackson County communities," said Fred Osing, Mississippi business banking manager for Wells Fargo.  "It's great to work alongside team members and neighbors doing work that will make a lasting impact on these families.”
