Accepting Resumes for a VISTA member with a Communications degree &/or experience

Do you know someone with excellent communications skills?

Do you know a student with a Communications background wanting to put their skills to work? 

Do you know someone wanting to work in South Mississippi with Habitat for Humanity? 

Habitat for Humanity of the MS Gulf Coast is accepting resumes for a full time VISTA member with a Communications degree or experience

Candidate should be knowledgeable in development of websites, utilizing forms of social media for marketing, developing electronic and print newsletters, preparing media releases, management of blogs, development of flyers / brochures / advertisements using graphic design software.    A VISTA position is a great opportunity for people of all ages to give back to the community in the form of public service.   VISTA members learn new skills, acquire qualities of leadership, and gain a sense of satisfaction from taking on responsibilities that directly affect peoples' lives.  It is a way to give back while earning an education award that can be used towards tuition or student loans payment.  

VISTA member gain valuable experience that translates directly into job experience in a chosen field. Many find their VISTA year to provide them with more experience and skills than they would have gotten in a traditional, paying job. 

Habitat for Humanity VISTA Member's Benefits:

• Living allowance of $12,100 for the year.
• Upon completion of service term, an Education Award will be granted in the amount of $5,550.
• Health insurance offered/worker's compensation.
• Loan forbearance for most student loans.
• Childcare assistance for qualified members.
• 10 leave/sick days, in addition to any affiliate holidays.
• Housing / rental stipend available. 

Deadline to submit resumes for the VISTA position:  March 14, 2012 by 5pm CT.
