Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and were created to respond to the devastation that resulted from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Although Hurricane Katrina hit the region over two years ago, many Mississippi residents are still displaced. More than 17,000 FEMA trailers are still scattered throughout Southern Mississippi. The coastal counties of Mississippi were the hardest hit areas of the Gulf Coast region.

Habitat for Humanity of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s efforts have increased tremendously since Katrina hit. Over the next five years, we hope to complete the construction of 800 homes. As you can see, there is plenty of work to be done.

Our mission is to help those willing to help themselves. In addition to paying off an interest free mortgage, Habitat homeowners must be willing to perform “sweat equity,” which is physical labor invested into their home. Habitat welcomes all volunteers over the age of 16,  regardless of experience or skill level.

Construction not your thing? That's not the only area where we use volunteers.  CLICK HERE to check out some volunteer committees where you can serve.

We are waiting for you.  Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. The entire Gulf Coast is grateful for your interest. Come help us rebuild! We can’t do it without you.
